A lake is beautiful with wild rice!
It is a garden and home for so many beings - humans included.
We watch beavers, muskrat, mink, and otters hunt, play, and mate in the rice beds.
We watch carp, bass, perch, sunfish, and crappies all spawning in the rice bed in front of our house.
Black birds, great blue herons, wood ducks, blue and green teals, wood ducks, geese, and enigmatic shore birds all seek food and shelter in and near to the wild rice.
